Since his childhood, Roger Stone was interested in politics and was the vice president of the high school student government. In 1972, he dropped out of his university to work for the ‘Richard Nixon Committee.’

• Roger Stone asked Jeb Magruder to help him get a job in the Republican Party when he met the latter at his university. He acquired a job at the Richard Nixon Committee after dropping out of college.
• In 1972, he was hired to work in the Office of Economic Opportunity. 
• In 1980, he helped President Ronald Reagan with his campaign in the presidential elections, and the latter was chosen the President of the U.S for the 40th time.
• Soon after, Roger Stone also laid the foundation of a lobbying and political consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
• In 1992, due to some controversies and other business-related problems, he had to sell off his company.
• In 1996, Roger Stone resigned from the Presidential campaign of Bob Dole owing to some further controversies in his name.
• In 2016, he was hired by Donald Trump for his election campaign. He faced a ban from appearing on many TV shows in the same year after derogatory remarks about TV personalities.
• In January 2019, Roger Stone was arrested for obstructing an official proceeding, defaming public personalities by making false statements about them, and tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to 40 months in prison after that.
