Who is Phil Anselmo?

Phil Anselmo is one of the most loved musicians in the United States. He has spent most of his career with the Pantera band and has released several songs that have topped the charts. He is also the owner as well as the founder of Housecore Records.

Anselmo was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is of Danish, Italian and French heritage. He attended many schools across Louisiana and Texas, the last of which was Grace King High School, located in the suburb of Metairie.

• Philip Anselmo was born and brought up in Orleans. His father had a restaurant that closed soon after hurricane Katrina. He completed his studies at Grace King School of Orleans, located near his father’s restaurant. 
• Phil used to work at fishing boats before he started his career as a musician. During the early phase of his career, he spent some time with two bands called razor White and Samhain. He then joined the heavy metal band called Pantera in the year 1986 as the lead vocalist. He was the replacement for Terry Glaze. 
• The majority of his successful career was as a band member of Pantera. The first album with the band called Power Metal was released in 1988 and gained much success. The next album, which turned out to be one of the biggest hits, was called Cowboys from Hell. After one long tour, they released another album called Vulgar Display of Power, and it had ranked the charts in the United States, UK, Japan and even Germany. 
• He has co-founded another band called Superjoint Ritual alongside Joe Fazzio and Jimmy Bower and has released only three albums to date. He has also worked with several other heavy metal bands; one among them is Down.
