Greene was also an outside linebackers coach from 2009-2013 for Green Bay Packers and from 2017-2018 for New York Jets.

In his University, he was able to join the football team and got his first success in 1984 when he won the Zeke Smith Award for being the Best Defensive Player of the Year. Greene got selected by the Los Angeles Rams in 1985 and played here till 1987. He got his first sack in 1985 against the Dallas Cowboys in the defensive end role. In 1989, he made it to the All-Pro Team and was called the Pro Bowl.
- Greene got a chance to sign a three-year contract with the Rams and scored 46 sacks in the three years. It was recorded as the highest achieved by any NFL player during the time. Greene then signed a three-year contract with Pittsburgh Steelers, and here again, he got the title of Pro Bowl along with Linebacker of the Year. In 1996, Greene signed with the Carolina Panthers, where he again got the linebacker of the year title and Defensive Player of the Year Award.
- Greene had a successful career as a coach as well. However, it is said that he left the job to spend more time with his family. He breathed his last on 21st December 2020.
