While representing Arsenal, the player won the Football League First Division. Bohemians became triumphant in the 1945 Dublin and Belfast Intercity Cup while managed by Jimmy Dunne. In 1926, the player was signed by Sheffield United to play in the Football League First Division. In his debut match, the team defeated Arsenal by 4-0. Though Dunne could not perform well in that season, yet in later years, the gap was compensated. In the 1930 season, he scored 41 goals for the team. Dunne signed a contract with Arsenal in 1932. He scored 28 goals in two seasons for the team, which did not seem promising; hence he was transferred to the Southampton Football Club in 1936. In the following year, the player joined the Shamrock Rovers.
