Yami Gautam is an Indian film actress who has appeared in South Indian and Bollywood films. She was born in a Himachali family in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh and was brought up in Chandigarh. She left her full-time studies to pursue her career in acting. Gautam was twenty when she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in movies. She made her television debut with Chand Ke Paar Chalo, which was followed by Rajkumar Aaryyan.
Yami Gautam decided to pursue a career in acting while doing her graduate degree in law honours. She moved to Mumbai, seeking acting opportunities. She has been the face of several commercial ad campaigns, including Fair&Lovely, Samsung Mobile, Chevrolet, Cornetto, etc. She won Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut for her role in Vicky Donor. Yami was named among the Most Desirable Woman list by times in 2012. Yami Gautam made her film debut in Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha. Gautam later made her Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, in which she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The film became a major commercial success and received critical appreciation. Later, she did films like Action Jaction (2014), Badlpaur (2015), Sanam Re ( (2016), Kaabil (2017), Sarkar (2017).
Her acting career has given her wings to achieve and live on her dreams; after the above-mentioned movies, Yami was signed for Batti Gul Meter chaalu with Sharadha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in 2018, followed by Uri: The surgical strike with Vickey Kaushal, which again a blockbuster movie and was loved by all the people, next she was seen in the movie Bala with Ayushman Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar.
Her latest movie is Ginny weds sunny, starring Vikrant Massey in 2020. Yami is honoured with times’ No. 12 Most Desirable Woman of 2012. Also, she has done brand endorsements, including Fair & Lovely, Cornetto, Samsung Mobile, Chevrolet, and many other brands.
