Sonam Kapoor is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. She was born on 9 June 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, Kapoor studied theatre and arts at the United World College of South East Asian Singapore. She was an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the 2005 film Black. Kapoor made her acting debut in Bhansali’s romantic drama Saawariya (2007).
Later, she appeared in Raanjhanaa (2013), which marked a turning point in her career, 2015 romantic comedy Khoobsurat and the 2015 comedy-drama Dolly Ki Doli, he received the National Film Award – Special Mention and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for portraying the much praised titular role in the biographical thriller Neerja (2016), one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films featuring a female protagonist.
After that, she signed for many other movies like Pad Man starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte in 2018, Veere di wedding along with co-stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar in 2018, Sanju in 2018, Ek ladki ko Dekha to Aisa Laga with Rajkumar Rao, Anil Kapoor in 2019; she was last seen in the Zoya factor in 2019. She has already signed for AK vs Ak, which will realise soon.

- During the promotions of her film Players starring Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu, the actress flashed her middle finger at a conference. The middle finger act came into the limelight after the Censor Board objected to Sonam Kapoor’s middle finger act in Players.
- Sonam Kapoor shocked all when she openly referred to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as ‘aunty’. The catfight began when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was replaced by Sonam for a cosmetic brand as their brand ambassador.
