Kiara Advani is an Indian film actress who appears in Hindi films. She was born on 31 July 1992 in Mumbai as ‘Alia Advani’ to Jagdeep Advani as a businessman and Genevieve Jaffrey. Before pursuing a career in film, Advani did two short courses in acting at Anupam Kher’s school of acting and Roshan Taneja’s institute.
In 2014, Advani made her acting debut in Kabir Sadanand’s comedy-drama film, Fugly, opposite newcomer Mohit Marwah. After her first film, she appeared in a sports biopic on cricketer M. S. Dhoni tilted M. S. Dhoni- The Untold Story (2016), directed by Neeraj Pandey. Then she appeared in action-thriller Abbas-Mastan’s Machine(2017). After machine, she appeared in Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor the movie did really good in theatres, then she was seen in Good news along with Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor in 2019. She was then seen in Laxmi with Akshay Kumar in 2020.
She is all set to make her Telugu debut with Bharat Ane Nanu. Kiara has recently been honoured with Life Membership of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
Kiara said that her father, only after watching the 2009 film 3 Idiots, allowed his kids to pursue a career in whatever they were passionate about. She is the great-granddaughter of Ashok Kumar and the great grand-niece of Saeed Jaffrey. She is also the niece of model Shaheen Jaffrey and actress Juhi Chawla.
