RaaShaun Casey is also famous as DJ Envy. He is an American DJ and a popular music producer. He hosts the popular radio show The Breakfast Club. Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God are the other two hosts of the show. The show telecasts on Power 105.1.
The talented DJ was born on the 3rd of September, 1977, in Queens, New York, where he grew up with his siblings. His interest in music blossomed in the early years when he began dedicating his time to pursue the goal. He graduated from Hampton University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is known as New York’s leading mixtape gardener.

- DJ clue hired Envy, who was then known as DJ Shrimp as his gardener. He lived in Clue’s neighborhood. He would often beat ox while gardening at Clue’s place. This impressed Clue, and he took him under his guidance. He introduced Envy to mixtape circuits. Soon during 2000, he started doing famous commercials. He did commercials for popular artists like Hahflamez, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and The L.O.X.
- His growing reputation made clue sign him for his record label. He released his first debut mixtape for the record label Desert Storm. The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1 released in 2003.
- The big break on the radio was achieved when the hot 97’ morning show “Takin’ it to the streets” host Angie became pregnant. He used to be a guest on the show and then became full-time.
- His radio journey started with Angie Martinez when he mixed for the Hot 97’s show. The show was named Takin’ it to the streets and came on the radio from 12:00 am to 4:00 am. He then continued with Miss Jones after Martinez left due to her pregnancy. He co-hosted the show with Miss Jones till July 2008; after that, Jones shifted to Pennsylvania. He then did his mix shows on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The show was named “The People’s Mix” and “The People’s Choice Hit List” and came on Hot97.
- In December 2010, he started with The Breakfast Club with the other two hosts Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God.
- He made appearances in various television shows like 106 & Park, Entourage, and Tha Corner. He played Shadow’s enemy in the movie Blood of a Champion in 2006. He was seen in Gucci Mane’s documentary “The Raw Report”.
